Patty Harper & Faultline: News

2019 - February 18, 2019

Alright....we did a little hibernating over the winter and now we are hungry to play! Let's do this thing!

One of our favorite write-ups - June 21, 2018

'Blues You Can Feel' by Patty Harper & Faultline is a powerfully slick, feel good rollin' romp thru the fields of R&B and the blues. The eleven track CD boasts nine original tunes that set your toes tappin' and booty shakin'. Built on the bedrock of Steve Harper's searing and dangerous curve huggin' hooks, the songs provide a perfect fit for Patty Harper's amazing vocals that are embellished by velvet growls and soaring peaks with the power of a hemi. This CD flows like melted sweet cream butter and will swagger and strut in yer player til it becomes one of your fav's. BUT, don't take MY word for it, check it out for yourself. You can thank me later."

We've got RHYTHM.... - April 1, 2018 the form of a brand spankin' new Rhythm Section! Cannot wait for everybody to hear us with the new lineup. We are truly honored to have with us Bob Buckley on Bass and Mike Assad on drums. These guys are totally WORLD-CLASS players. SO EXCITING!!!!

EXCITING ENDING TO 2017 - September 13, 2017

We love Lafayette's Music Room! Always a great time!!!!!!!

Wet Willie's - October 24, 2015

We are sad to report that after steady gigs at Wet Willie's on Beale for the past several years the owner has decided to discontinue music at all of their venues...YES, even on Beale. We were booked through the end of the year and now we have nothing! They made it very easy for us to keep working and that made me very lazy about booking the band elsewhere! So now I need to get busy and get booking! This will be my final entry regarding Wet Willie's and I just want to say that the managers and the crew there were always wonderful to us and we will miss the people and the Beale street adventures! We'll have more dates elsewhere soon and we hope to see you there!

***NEW NEW NEW*** - December 27, 2013

We've got NEW repertoire! We've got 2014 bookings that we'll be telling you about soon! We've got NEW band promo pictures that will be posted soon too! We want to thank you all for your support throughout 2013 and look forward to seeing you in the NEW YEAR! Have fun! Be safe! Xx pj&h

Past Due! - September 29, 2013

Happy Fall Y'all! Soooooo...I can't believe how long it has been since I've posted an update here! Sorry about that! I'm not great at this self promotion stuff...I'd be better if I weren't so darned busy! I'm gonna try to do better. Anyhoo, thanks so much for checking in! 2013 has brought us some great new players and some great new repertoire and we are very excited about it! We are playing exactly as much as we want to be (still mostly at Wet Willie's on Beale which we love because they treat us GREAT!) and Steve & I have been doing our Jazz duo gig at El Porton about once a month. We are THRILLED to have in the books an upcoming photo session with the AWESOME Memphis photographer, Hal Jaffe. Can't wait to share those with you!

Rockin in 2013 - December 29, 2012

Steve is doing great! His arm is totally better! We are ready to ROCK!!!!!!!! Watch for the calendar to fill up soon! :-) Happy Dance! :-)

Bad News! - July 14, 2011

In case you hadn't heard, our band leader and guitarist, Steve, sustained a left distal radius fracture (just above the wrist) on July 4th, 2011. It was a pretty significant break and he had to have surgery. Last Friday he underwent Open Reduction Internal Fixation with plating - which is a fancy way of saying they went in and put some hardware in there to push the bones into place where they need to be. Yesterday he had his first post operative visit and got a short arm cast and began treatment with the Smith & Nephew Exogen Ultrasound Bone Growth Stimulator which is a fracture healing device. Kim, our Smith & Nephew Sales Rep, has been AWESOME! We are totally thrilled with the care that he has received from Dr. Greg Wolf at Tabor Orthopedics. Dr. Wolf is very happy with the result of the surgery and with how well Steve is doing now. He is able to wiggle his fingers and he has sensation in his finger tips. He will be in the cast for a minimum of 6 weeks then he will begin physical therapy. It will be a while before he will be allowed to bend his playing guitar is absolutely out of the question at this time. This is why our schedule is so pitiful at this time. I asked Dr. Wolf if he felt that Steve would be able to play a gig in late October and he feels optimistic that he WILL be ready to play by then! case scenario, I guess, Steve will be ROCKIN out in a few months. Huge THANKS to our guys John, Ben & Dan for your patience and understanding! We'll be back soon and in the meantime I'll keep ya posted right here! Best, Patty

***Memphis Flooding*** - May 7, 2011

The Beale Street Clubs are all still open for business - Even if we aren't playing there this month we still encourage you to support live music and get ya some great food at Wet Willie's!!!!!!!!!!! They have the most awesome staff in the world and actually respect and support musicians! Even if Riverside drive closes due to flooding there are OTHER ways to get to Beale! Go! You'll have a great time!!!!!!

Cinco!!!!!!!!! - May 7, 2011

We love, love, love our annual Cinco de Mayo gig at El Porton and have been booked back for next year! Thank you to Kelly and the crew for showing us so much love! Thank you to the Chris-More gang for always helping to make it so fun for us! Thank you to the Smith & Nephew ladies who joined in the fun this year! Thank you to the Jessop family - especially Maxwell - for being there and for all of that awesome dancing! Man, what I wouldn't give for just 1/4 of that energy!!!!!!! Great Audience=Great Gig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to 5-5-2012! Hope you'll plan on joining in the fun next have a whole YEAR to plan it!

Breaking News!!!! - October 10, 2010

Steve & I have LOVED playing all over California, Nevada, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, etc and recording with Faultline over the past 18 1/2 years! We've gone through many changes of players and repertoire over the years, but Faultline will always be a part of our lives! We look forward to continuing to play the greatest possible variety of Rock, Blues, R&B and More and to all of the adventures that have yet to come with Faultline!

Sooooooooo....what is the news?? The news is that Steve & I have added a new project to our lives! We are now available to play duo gigs! The repertoire consists primarily of jazz standards, love songs and a few show tunes for good measure! It will be a completely different experience than all of that awesome rockin out that we enjoy with Faultline and we are sooooooooooo excited about it!

Stay tuned for invitations to upcoming duo gigs and Faultline gigs tooooooo!!!

We are Baaaaaaaaaack!!! - October 10, 2010

Turns out our summer break was a good thing! We are all rested up and rockin again! We enjoyed our return to Wet Willie's a few weeks ago - ended up being a BIG party!!!! There will be more dates to come! We are available for parties too!

***Taking a Break*** - June 7, 2010

Hello All! Welcome to another hot Memphis summer! I've got news, friends, after months of playing every weekend my boys have been waving the white flag and begging for a little down time. So, with regret, we are taking a little break from playing so that we can regroup, work up new repertoire and find some new places to play. We've gone from having a very full schedule to having one lone gig in the books. So, this coming Saturday night we will be playing at Hadley's in Bartlett and our friend Dan Cochran will be sitting in on bass. We do so hope you will come!

FINAL IBC UPDATE - January 23, 2010

Good Morning Faultline Friends,
Our band, Patty Harper & Faultline, was honored and thrilled to have represented Memphis in the 2010 International Blues Challenge! Beale street was crawling with amazing bands and it was a pleasure to meet so many talented, friendly, supportive musicians from all over the world! We were especially impressed with our Southern neighbors 2Blu & The Lucky Stiffs from Alabama and Mike Holloway and the Crosstie band from Mississippi! Super sweet people and phenomenal musicians! CHECK THEM OUT! They were great and we thought for sure that if we weren't going to take it then one of them would be the deserving winners..but it wasn't in the cards for them either....better luck next year! ;-)

There is a video clip of one of the original songs that we performed that has been posted on You Tube (Patty Harper + Faultline at the IBC). This was shot on night one! We can't wait to see the night 2 footage as we all felt oodles better about the Friday night performance. There can only be one winner and this year it wasn't us. We had the time of our lives though and want to send out a big thanks to all of our family and friends who were there cheering us on! Your support means the world to us!
Hope to see you back on Beale as we return to Wet Willie's next Saturday night from 8-Midnight. We have a promoter flying down from Nashville to hear us that night, so we would be most appreciative of a nice big rowdy crowd...can you come?
Thanks again for being our best supporters!
Patty, Steve, John, Philip, Ben & Owen the Blues Monkey!!!!!!
